An ascent towards the edge of the crater of the most famous volcano in the world, narrated by intellectuals of all ages, studied by experts from everywhere, famous for having destroyed the Roman cities in 79 AD.
Accompanied by a naturalistic guide, we will reach the crater edge on the south-west side of the volcanic edifice, admiring its magnificence and tracing the history that made it famous, to then connect to the east side of the volcanic edifice, admiring from above the Valle del Gigante and the majestic Monte Somma. An exclusive one-of-a-kind circular route!

What will you do
The path allows the ascent to the Gran Cono del Vesuvio, starting
from an altitude of 1000m to an altitude of 1175m, winding in a series of bends with breathtaking views and from which it is possible to admire the ancient and antecedent extinct volcano of Monte Somma, separated from Vesuvius by the Valle del Gigante. From above it will be possible to admire the Gulf of Naples, the slopes of the volcano with the headquarters of the Vesuvian Volcanological Observatory, the first in Italy and founded in 1841, spectacular geological formations and the characteristic native and pioneer vegetation. During the ascent to the crater, the guides will illustrate the geological, naturalistic and historical characteristics of Mount Somma and Vesuvius, as well as show you unique plant and animal species of this particular ecosystem and therefore of extreme naturalistic interest.
Having reached the crater rim at an altitude of 1175m above sea level, we will begin a flat route, circumnavigating the crater with repeated views of the active eruptive vent, where it is possible to admire the suggestive fumaroles reflecting the full activity of the volcano. At the end of the tour, continue downhill to reach the square again at an altitude of 1000m above sea level, where the means of transport will be taken up again.

Okay, aber kein 5 Sterne Hotel
Preis-Leistung nicht gerechtfertigt, Zimmerausstattung maximal 4 Sterne, sehr laut, sodass man die Nachbarn beim duschen und Klo spühlen hört, Zimmer immer etwas feucht, weite Wege ohne Beschilderung, Pool sehr schön, aber trotz Poolregeln und Personal sehr laut, entweder spielen Personen am Telefon irgendwelche YouTube Videos oder nehmen ihre eigene Box mit, um eigene Musik zu spielen… Handtücher von bereits angereisten Gästen werden erst am Abend entfernt, Essensreste werden spät abgeräumt, sodass immer mal wieder Möven vorbeischauen.
All in all kein 5 Sterne Hotel, für den Preis erwarte ich einen anderen Standard und vor allem Personal, dass etwas umsichtiger ist.

Incredible place and fantastic staff
This hotel is on a gorgeous bay with a beach club and an amazing restaurant. It is a fantastic and rare combination. I’d also like to complement a few members of the staff who managed our many requests beautifully: the Sommelier who speaks beautiful French and is passionate about the wine, Derik the concierge who twice called personal friends of his to arrange special requests for us, Alberto the manager at the beach restaurant and Annetta the manager at the beach club. They were all so professional while also absolutely charming.

A charming seaside resort
Le Callette lived up to all of our expectations. The property, food restaurants, pool, and our suite all excellent. The staff were all very warm, professional, and very accommodating. The location is very good and convenient to the highway and a short drive to the town of Caefalu'. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay and would definitely return. Thank you!
